Replacement of wear liners on fixed plant is a major element of any maintenance shutdown on operating mine sites. Delays directly effect production and impact revenue. Segnut brings a new approach to retaining wear liners and other heavy duty consumables, helping cater for both priorities.

Segnut makes wear liner replacement / liner change-out safer and faster. It removes the need for oxy-acetylene cutting or grinding saving time and removing the dangers posed by molten metal. In high fire risk areas such as screen houses or conveyors it eliminates fire risk from hot works.

Seized nuts are removed in a fraction of the time of conventional methods.

With its patented, simple design Segnut allows maintenance crews to quickly, safely remove wear liners without the need for special tools and with minimal use of impact tools (and their associated vibration injury risks). It is compatible with conventional studs and bolts.

THE NEW “BEST PRACTICE”

BHP WA Iron Ore has approved Segnut for use on critical, high fire risk applications on its mine site fixed plant as a means of eliminating hot works and its associated hazards and to reduce maintenance turn around times. It has also been installed on sites owned by other major resources companies including Rio Tinto, FMG, Newcrest and Boral Ltd. to improve the safety and efficiency of their plant maintenance.

It has been tested and proven on equipment as diverse as aluminium smelting plants, gold ore bins, iron ore stacker/reclaimers and coal wash plants. It is ideal for conveyor deflector plates, hard conveyor skirts, chutes and screens.

MEETS OR EXCEEDS INDUSTRY STANDARDS

Segnut is installed on standard studs and bolts and requires no special tooling. Certified as a Class 8 fastener, it meets or exceeds the torque and tension requirements for wear liner replacement and other demanding applications.

The product is perfect for use in any application where fastened joints are regularly undone for maintenance or component replacement.  It can be tightened to the same torques as standard nuts and requires no special preparation or modification to the bolt or stud being used for the joint.
