CONVEYOR MAINTENANCE

CONVEYOR MAINTENANCE – MATERIALS HANDLING

Conveyor systems are the conduits that keep mining and quarrying operations moving. When they stop – production throughput halts. And lost tonnes per hour equals lost dollars.

Segnut allows faster, safer “live” wear skirt and idler change-outs

FASTER, SAFER CHANGE-OUTS

Segnut allows faster, safer “live” wear skirt and idler change-outs in a fraction of the time it takes with conventional fasteners. –  all while eliminating the risk of fire caused by hot works near flammable conveyor belts.

By removing oxy-acetylene cutting or grinding, it also eliminates damage to the host metal, reducing the need for disruptive, costly refurbishment works on the conveyor structure. The quick-release mechanism has the added benefit of reducing the time spent using bulky power tools in confined spaces or at heights.  Significantly reduced use of rattle guns minimises exposure to vibration related injuries (HAVS) and hearing loss.

STANDARD TOOLS, NON-STANDARD EFFICIENCY

With its patented, simple design Segnut allows maintenance crews to quickly and safely remove hard or soft skirts without the need for special tools while minimising disruption to material flow. It is compatible with conventional plow bolts and studs and meets or exceeds the strength and torque characteristics requires of conventional fasteners.

Minimizing conveyor downtime ensures that costly interruptions to production are also
minimal without compromising safety. Maintenance staff can be quickly and easily introduced to Segnut and its benefits without costly re-tooling or re-equipping.

BUILT FOR THE MOST DEMADING APPLICATIONS

Segnut’s robust design is engineered to keep performing despite the worst effects of impact and corrosion even in maritime environments such as port load-out facilities. It is a tough, reliable fastener that can cope with high vibration, shock and corrosion without degradation of the fastened joint.

Segnut is installed on conventional bolts or studs and requires no special tooling. Certified as a Class 8 fastener, it meets or exceeds the torque and tension requirements for even the most demanding application.
